We limit our paid listings to those who have a business license, the proper flooring licenses and/or certifications. You can be sure all the flooring professionals advertising on our site are true professionals. As a professional, we know you have taken the time to get certified in your area(s) of expertise, and we want to make sure your customers know that too!

Industry Certification

As flooring professional, you may be required to obtain certain licenses and certifications (this may vary by state). Below is a list of links to the organizations providing some of the most common flooring certifications.

NWFA – National Wood Flooring Association
Offers certifications for Installation, and Sand & Finishing, inspector and sales counselor certification programs.

All Flooring

FCITS – Flooring Consultants and Inspection Training Services
Offers many courses for flooring inspector training and offers certifications.

National Institute of Certified Floorcovering Inspectors
Non–profit association of independent floor covering inspectors. NICFI members are expert flooring failure analysts and expert witnesses in flooring problems and failures.

RFCI – Resilient Floor Covering Institute
RFCI was established to support the interests of the total resilient floor covering industry and the people who use its products and offers resilient floor covering certification.

WFCA – World Floor Covering Association
Promoting professional development through certification and providing its retailer members the business tools and resources to increase profitability.


CFI – Certified Floorcovering Installers
Certifies professional installers who will provide customers with an installation of which they can be proud for many years. Focus on carpet, but also some hard surfaces.

Institution of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification
An institute that offers certifications for carpet cleaners, inspectors, and more.

Natural Fiber Flooring Installation Certification
Offers training and certification for the sale and installation of natural and biodegradable carpet.


UTAS – University of Tile and Stone
Offers accredited certifications for tile and stone.


CTIOA – Ceramic Tile Institute of America Inc.
To promote appropriate and expanded use of ceramic tile and natural stone through education.


USGBC – U.S. Green Building Council – LEED Certification
Offers LEED certification. a 501(c)(3) non–profit community of leaders working to make green buildings accessible to everyone within a generation.
