how do you feel about discount installation jobs when the customer requests? I personally refuse to adjust my prices but my competitors do. If I lower my prices, which are fair and reasonable I have to work harder and longer to make the same money and I refuse to do that.

I have always found that most people are willing to pay a fair price for quality work. Much better to pay a little more for quality than pay less and get novice work. I agree with you, don't lower your price and sell yourself short.

If you have an established reputation and have priced the job fairly you should be fine. I have had customers ask for discounts and I ask them to consider the professionalism of the installers and the quality of setting materials and thank them for the opportunity to bid their job.
