oil or water based urethane?

Hello, I am a handyman learning about wood floors. How can you tell weather the urethane finish is oil or water based?

Okay, here is what I know. First of all if the floor was last finished more than 10 years ago it is most likely oil based. Oil based finishes also tend to yellow over the years while water based tends to remain clear. Beyond that I would need to refer to a wood flooring expert. Any takers?
